Proud to be an industry Leader
Prestonwood Imaging is proud to be the first outpatient facility in North Texas to offer Magnetic Resonance Imaging at 3-T (3-Tesla).
What is 3-T strength MRI?
Tesla is the measure of the strength of the magnetic field. As the strength of the field increases, the clarity of images is enhanced, while the time the patient lies in the scanner is reduced by as much as half. Most outpatient MRI units have magnets with low field strength – as low as 0.2 to 0.5 Tesla in “Open MRIs” and 1.0 to 1.5 Tesla in traditional MRI equipment. 3-T strength, combined with other advanced features, including additional coils, increased radio frequency (RF) channels and advanced processing software, will allow your radiologist to see details of structures never visible before.
